Poker Run
Thursday morning started out with a bang. After a beautiful evening for the
kick off party on Wednesday night, clouds rolled in during the night and there was thunder, lightning
and dark skies in the distance as the
poker run was getting under way. Again this year, the Poker Run went to the
Ramada Express Hotel and Casino in Laughlin, NV, which is about 70 miles
from Lake Havasu City.

The second card was drawn at the Lake Havasu City airport and as some of the
cars arrived there, so did the rain. This gave some of our club members a chance
to wear their new black jackets with the new club logo. Some participants drove to Laughlin in
their regular vehicles but many toughed it out in their street rods. After drawing the
second card at the airport, entrants
made their way across the desert headed for Laughlin.

The third card was drawn at the ADOT truck scale on I-40, just before
crossing the Colorado River into California.
The fourth card was drawn at the Ramada Express Visitor Center on the old
River Road near Needles, CA.

The final card was drawn at the beautiful Ramada Express Hotel and Casino in
Laughlin, Nevada where some entrants enjoyed taking a break before heading back to Lake Havasu City for cruise night.

The best hand had four Kings (KKKK) and was worth $250.00
The worst hand (24567) was also worth $250.00
Others tried their luck inside the casino while in Laughlin. The Ramada
Express had a special Keno game for the poker run contestants and awarded four
prizes in the amounts of $100.00, $75,00, $50.00 and $25.00.
