Poker Run

This year's Poker Run was to the Ramada Express Hotel & Casino in Laughlin, NV and it was blessed with wonderful weather. On Thursday morning the last two years (2001 and 2002) it rained and that limited the number of cars participating. This year there were no excuses from the roadster drivers and the large turnout filled the preferred parking lot at the Ramada Express.

Due to other commitments, no photos are available from this year's Poker Run. The route and stops were the same as the past few years and the first card was drawn at the "Pink Hotel" in Lake Havasu City on the island. One free hand came with each entry and additional hands could be purchased at the first stop for $5.00 each. From there, the cars crossed over the London Bridge and headed north on SR 95 on their way to the Lake Havasu City Airport where the second card was drawn.

From the airport, cars continued north on SR 95 to I-40 where they turned westbound and proceeded towards the Colorado River. The third card was drawn at the ADOT truck scale on I-40, just before crossing the river into California.

After passing through Needles, CA, the cars turned off on the old River Road and stopped at the Ramada Express Visitor Center to draw their fourth cards.

The final card was drawn at the beautiful Ramada Express Hotel and Casino in Laughlin, where entrants enjoyed taking a break and having a bite to eat before heading back to Lake Havasu City for cruise night. The Poker Run Chairman estimated that between 150 and 200 cars went this year.
