ROAD TRIPS

In June of 2008, the club chartered a bus to travel to Phoenix to watch a Diamondbacks baseball game. The group rode off to Chase Field in the big city on a round trip that was three times as long as the game.

The A/C unit in the bus was struggling all the way on this 115 degree day but the full load of 45 uncomplaining fans took it all in stride, and luckily we never even had to break open the "Body Fluids Cleanup Kit" that was mounted in the bus. I hate to think about what this may have been used for in the past.

The beer and the dogs and the crack of the bats brought back memories to all that the big screen TV just can’t capture. Many thanks to Jan Edwards for organizing this great outing, getting the best seats and prices, finding the only available bus in town, and for keeping almost everyone happy.

The club was welcomed on the Jumbo sized scoreboard between innings and one of our members had to be the best dressed fan in attendance with his Hot Rod shirt.
