Golf Course Preparation
The first task at hand on Wednesday morning was the striping of the golf course. This task was
completed with the help of other Lake Havasu City car clubs. The "Give Away" tent was also
erected and stood ready for service.

Registration
This year, registration opened on Wednesday morning at 7:00 AM. Early arrivals
lined up
outside the Convention Center at 6:00 AM, waiting for
registration to open. Our club members, in their red shirts, were also
waiting and were all smiles as we anticipated a great week of fun for everyone.

The Wednesday kick-off party has grown each year and we were overwhelmed
last year with the amount of people who were here on Wednesday. The pictures below were taken on Wednesday during the 2002
run and the single line was quite long most of the day.

This year,
registration opened earlier and there were five lines instead of one. The
picture below was taken on Wednesday morning and registration stayed about this
way all day long. The long line never
happened this year prompting one entrant to complain that he didn't have anyone
to visit with while waiting to register.

At registration, each entrant picked up a goody bag and packet which
included a window sticker for their vehicle, wrist
bands, tickets for the kick-off party, drink tickets, banquet tickets, dash plaque,
mug and a coupon for a run T-shirt. Our T-shirt vendor, Natural Tease, had a booth set up in
registration on Wednesday and Thursday and had many other nice items for sale with the
Run to the Sun logo on them. Below are pictures of our event
shirt, mug and dash plaque that each participant received.

Tickets for the engine raffle and 50/50 were sold in registration on
Wednesday and Thursday. During the show & shine on Friday and Saturday, tickets were sold from golf carts cruising the golf
course. Tickets were sold to participants only and when the winning tickets were drawn at
the end of the awards ceremony on Saturday, the winners had to have their
entrant wrist bands to
collect their prizes.

Again this year, the engine raffle included a chance to win two engines. A 351 cubic inch
385 hp GT-40 SVO Ford engine donated by Bradley Ford and a 350 cubic inch 330 hp
Chevrolet engine donated by Bradley Chevrolet. Other raffle prizes included a set of
four tires donated by Anderson Chrysler, a Cool Tool garage refrigerator, a one week
resort vacation donated by Epic Resorts, a $100.00 Savings Bond donated by Bank
of America, an "Irma the Maid" statue and a CD/stereo unit.
