Fashion Show
What do several hundred women do at a car show while their men are kicking
tires and voting for their favorite vehicles? If you were at this year's Run,
and at the Nautical Inn's Conference Center on Saturday morning, you would know
the answer to the foregoing question. It was happening at the very popular
Fashion Show for the women rodders attending our event.
Refreshments were served and the ageless Dixie Belles performed for the group as
things got underway. Clothes were modeled by some local volunteers wearing the
latest fashions from local clothing stores.
Each participant received a ticket at the door for some nice prizes that
were given away while the models were changing outfits. A big hit this year were
the 20 Dolly Mamas that went to new homes with 20 ladies.
Some of these women try to out do each other by wearing some
outlandish costumes and hats.
There was also an optional raffle with many nice prizes given away at the
end of the show. A Ten Carat Gold and Diamond Tennis Bracelet was won by this
lucky lady from Oregon, who shall remain nameless.
As with all the events associated with Run to the Sun, the proceeds from
this Fashion Show are donated to local charities and we appreciate the support
of our sponsors and participants.
