28th Annual Run to the Sun - 2005

Registration
Registration opened at 9:00 AM and there was a steady stream of rodders
picking up their packets or registering for the Run throughout the day. Some of
the local hot rod shops put on a poker run for these early arrivals to give them
something to do during the day.
Kick Off Party
This year the kick-off party was held on the grass at the Nautical Inn's
cove and was a Hawaiian Luau theme. The weather was perfect and music was
provided by Desert Steel Motorsports.
BBQ Teriyaki chicken sandwiches were served along with salad, fruit and
coffee or lemonade to the 600 plus people in attendance. Everyone seemed to enjoy the warm Arizona evening while
visiting with other rodders and waiting for the door prize drawings to begin.
Lots of nice gifts were giving to the people who had checked in during the day
and were lucky enough to have their entry number drawn..
After the door prize drawing, the winners of the local poker run were
announced and cash awards were presented. After the presentations, many people
stayed around while others headed for their rooms to rest up for Thursday's
events.
