29th Annual Run to the Sun - 2006

Opening Day

Registration was scheduled to open at 9:00 AM but by 8:00 AM there was a
line starting to form. Some were there to do some early shopping at Natural
Tease Sportswear's booth and there were some very nice dress up items with the
2006 Run to the Sun logo for sale there.
Our crew was prepared and got their final instructions as the
line grew. First person in line was Dale Kindelberger, who entered his family's
1930 Reo Flying Cloud sedan.
As the day wore on, the steady stream of rodders kept our crew
busy. When this truck pulled up in front of registration, we thought someone had
kicked the bucket, so to speak. It was just Dennis Eaton with his new (?) ride.
Cool license plate too!
Kick Off Party
The Kick-Off party was held at the Convention Center and there was plenty of
parking on the golf course behind the Convention Center. You could dine inside,
or outside on the patio where you could enjoy a great view of the sunset and
London Bridge, and listen to the music provided by Desert Steel Motorsports.
There were 6 buffet lines so there wasn't much of a wait to
get served and back to your seat. The following pictures show some hungry people

After dinner, it was time to visit with friends and fellow
rodders .....
And watch the sun set .....
It was then time for the door prize drawings. Lots of nice gifts were given to the people who had checked in during the day
and were lucky enough to have their entry number drawn..
