Our 31^st Annual Run to the Sun will once again be open to 1972 and older cars and trucks. This year there will be some exciting changes that have come about from suggestions we have received. First off, we'll be moving back onto the island to the Nautical Inn and their 18 hole golf course. This larger venue will allow space for more cars and spectator parking. Another change will be reserved parking that will be sold at registration. There will be 600 reserved spaces available on Wednesday and Thursday and the $10.00 charge for this option will allow you to reserve your spot on the golf course. This will allow you to sleep in on Friday and Saturday instead of getting up in the middle of the night to get in line with your friends so you can all park together. Another change will be the parking on McCulloch Blvd when we have our large cruise night. This year, only people who have registered for the show will be allowed to park on the street and no-one should be turned away. This is a very popular night with our participants and community and if you've never attended, you'll be amazed at the number of spectators on the street.

The Nautical Inn will be our host hotel and they are located just 1-1/2 miles from the world famous London Bridge on the island. During the show and shine on their golf course, there will be a vendor area with automotive vendors as well as food and drink vendors.

London Bridge and the English Village

Things will kick off on Wednesday evening with a catered party for early arrivals. Here you will be able to meet fellow car buffs and enjoy a casual meal and our pleasant Arizona evening weather.

The Poker Run on Thursday morning will once again go southbound along Lake Havasu and the scenic Colorado River. The final stop will be at the Blue Water Resort and Casino in Parker, AZ. Cash awards will be given for the best and worst poker hands, and for the most correct answers in the fun trivia contest. You will be back in Lake Havasu City in plenty of time for the huge cruise night on upper McCulloch Blvd.

During the show and shine on Friday and Saturday we will have games and give-away prizes for the participants. There will be 50/50 drawings and an optional engine raffle. Tickets for the engine raffle will only be sold to Run to the Sun entrants. The engine raffle will also have some other super prizes that will be given to the lucky holders of tickets drawn at the awards ceremony. These items will be on display at registration and tickets will be for sale there, and on the golf course on Friday and Saturday. Be sure to take a look and purchase your tickets for a chance to win one of these great prizes.

Saturday morning will find most of the ladies at the very popular fashion show in the Nautical Inn's Convention Center. The theme for this year's show is "I MATCH MY RIDE". Prizes will be awarded for the best outfits and there are sure to be some interesting ones. More door prize drawings will be held during the fashion show and some very nice gifts will be given away to some lucky ladies.

The award ceremony will be on Saturday afternoon and we will once again be giving away our very popular Kachina trophies. These trophies will go to the Top Ten vehicles plus the winners in each of the 30 classes. There will also be trophies for vehicles picked by our sponsors, members of our community and club officials. Each trophy is hand made by the Navajo Indians in northwest New Mexico and each one is unique. Each Top Ten winner will also receive a special Run to the Sun Top Ten jacket.

Your entry includes 2 meals at the Kick-off Party on Wednesday, a custom designed Run T-Shirt, Beverage Tickets, 2 Arm Bands for the Show & Shine, Fashion Show for the Ladies, the Poker Run, the Cruise Night on Upper McCulloch Blvd, 2 meals at the Friday banquet, the Friday night concert, the parade on Sunday morning and a chance to win one of our great give-away prizes. Five days of fun and sun in Lake Havasu City. In addition, the first 1,000 entries will receive a Souvenir Mug and a Dash Plaque. Enter early to receive these bonus gifts.

The Tornados will be performing again this year on Friday night. There will be special reserved parking at the Aquatic Center for entrants and the concert will be held in the Relics & Rods Hall there. The Tornados were inducted into the Surf Music Hall of Fame in 1999 and you can click here to visit their website.
